![Redford, The township was initially created as Bucklin Township in 1827. Due to postal regulations prohibiting two post offices having the same name, when the township was further subdivided unique names had to be found. Thus Bucklin was divided into Pekin and Nankin, a result of a wave of interest in China. Pekin was further divided in 1833 into Redford and Dearborn Townships.
