Small Rooms Become Open Floor Plan, We recently renovated our Decatur GA 1940's house from being one with lots of small rooms (with lots of doors!) to one with an open floor plan. Our builder removed lots of walls half of the attic (put in beams with up-lighting) moved a staircase to the basement and enclosed a side porch to become a large walk-in pantry and separte mud/dog room. The cabinets are IKEA the countertops are granite and the kitchen floor is travertine in a "Versailles" pattern (saw that on HGTV!)., Kitchens
