We tore out the flower garden and put in a play structure. We need help! We'd like flowers in front of the structure a path along the fence with plants a vegetable garden behind the garage and a deck under the trees. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The title tells it all, folks. We have an amazingly large backyard, the biggest in the neighborhood, but its a desolate wasteland. Everytime I go back there, it makes me want to cry. We have about 10 feet of "normal" backyard, then it falls off into a cliff of death and rocks below. there's no grass (everything is brown year round, only a Cypress tree, some GIANT rocks, and an awkward storm drain. I've literally been back there twice in the last year because it makes me so sad. My goal? Grass and plant life, for starters. A fenced in space for my children to play. A place to hang out and cook. We are very outdoorsy, and LOVE to have people over and entertain, but we are trapped inside, not only because of the yard, but because there is no way to the backyard from the rear of the house. we have a 10x10 deck off the upstairs kitchen with no stairs to get down. I am seeking any advice, suggestions, tips, ANYTHING!
